Education Minister Dr Michael Dowlath has confirmed that this year’s Secondary Entrance Assessment results show “significant improvement”.

Speaking at the AmCham Tech Hub Islands Summit yesterday, Dr Dowlath said he had already seen the results, ahead of the official release later tonight.

His comments came as he praised the Chamber for its support on an AI platform that gave pupils access to past SEA Mathematics papers.

During his address, the Minister also said upgrades continue for Wi-Fi in schools, as part of wider efforts to improve digital learning.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has also assured that all SEA students will receive a free laptop, when they enter Form One in September.

She says this forms part of Government’s education modernisation drive.

In a message ahead of the release of SEA results, the Prime Minister reminded students that one examination does not define their future.

She encouraged students to embrace the fresh opportunities the new school term will bring, and congratulated students, parents and teachers for their efforts and support.

17,509 pupils wrote this year’s SEA examination on March 26th.
