Two UK barristers, retained by the State in the legal matter involving businessman Dominic Hadeed and his wife, Genevieve , are expected to be called to the local Bar today.

According to a T&T Express report, King’s Counsel Sir James Eadie and Robert Strang met with Attorney General John Jeremie yesterday, where several hours of discussions were held at his office.

They, along with National Gas Company Chairman Gerald Ramdeen, form part of the State’s legal team.

Legal Notices published on June 30 confirm that King’s Counsel Sir James Raymond Eadie and Robert Stephen Strang have been authorised to appear for the State in the case involving the couple and the Commissioner of Police.

This as the Hadeeds challenge the legality of Preventive Detention Orders issued under the Emergency Powers Regulations.

The couple has been accused of involvement in a conspiracy to assassinate senior Government officials.
