Tobago West MP Joel Sampson says legislation to aid the Tobago House of Assembly in enforcing the Buccoo Reef Marine Park is coming soon.

Currently, the Constitution does not allow the THA enforcement powers, but that is set to change with the net Bill allowing powers of enforcement along with fines, and prohibition of activities.

Mr Sampson says Cabinet will soon consider bringing the Draft Marine Park Bill 202 to Parliament.

MP Sampson says he will be heavily involved in taking the Bill to Parliament before the end of the current Parliamentary session.

“We have to bring that legislation because we have to have some laws regulated to deal with the Marine Park because persons have been operating ad hoc,” he said.
