The Port Authority has denied a report by Guardian Media, regarding a truck incident involving the MV Golden Carrier at the Port of Scarborough.
In a statement, it says the report was exaggerated and misleading, adding that it was not contacted for comment before publication and that no independent evidence supported claims that a person was nearly struck.
Following an investigation, including security footage and interviews, the Authority says the truck moved backwards after its parking brake was not engaged but was stopped by the driver.
It has confirmed that no one was injured and no vehicles were damaged in the incident.
