10 Preventative Detention Orders have been issued for persons suspected of being involved in gang activity, murder plots, extortion, and trafficking in firearms.
With regard to some of the alleged gang members, authorities believe they may be linked to planned reprisal shootings against rival gangs.
One of the PDOs also covers the suspected leader of an organised Human Trafficking Network allegedly operating between Trinidad and Tobago.
The detention orders were signed by Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander under Regulation 14 of the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026.
