Seven persons were taken into custody after the T&T Coast Guard intercepted a vessel during a routine maritime patrol early this morning.
In a statement, it says the pirogue was intercepted in the vicinity of Monos Island, with four adult males, one adult female and two minors.
All were Venezuelan nationals.
The vessel was also carrying an assortment of food items and other provisions.
The TTCG said both the vessel and its occupants were handed over to the relevant authorities for processing in accordance with the law.
