Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says the Government is strengthening measures to protect the nation’s youth, “recognising that prevention begins long before a crisis occurs”.
Responding to a question from Opposition MP Marvin Gonzales in the Lower House this morning, the Prime Minister said the Government has adopted a “whole-of-government approach” to child protection.
Mrs Persad-Bissessar also accused the Opposition of failing to adequately support children’s welfare during its decade in office.
