Search efforts are continuing following the discovery of a child’s body along the Los Iros shoreline today.
According to reports, the six-year-old girl and an adult Venezuelan national have been confirmed dead, following the capsizing of a pirogue.
The child’s body was found by the Hunters Search and Rescue Team led by Vallence Rambharat, which is continuing to scour the shoreline.
About 30 people are thought to have been on board the vessel at the time, and while most survived, two more adults remain missing.
HSRT members have found a number of personal effects along the beach, including clothing, toys, and even a child’s toothbrush.
