27 households have received over $338,400 in grant assistance from the Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services.
According to the Ministry, these were distributed beneficiaries in the Princes Town region.
They included 20 Disaster General Assistance Grants valued at $213,200, as well as seven Home Repair Grants valued at $125,271.
Speaking during the distribution, Minister of the People, Vandana Mohit, acknowledged significant delays and backlogs affecting the timely delivery of assistance.
She insists however that there is a commitment to change that.
