Over $200,000 in SEED Grants were distributed by the Ministry of the People this past weekend.
The Ministry says on Saturday, about $120,000 in grants was given to eight recipients across the San Fernando, Princes Town and Mayaro/Rio Claro regions.
Then, on Sunday, just under $88,000 in grants was delivered to another eight entrepreneurs.
According to the Ministry, the grants were handed over to the recipients at the places of business, allowing Minister Vandana Mohit to gain first-hand insight into the businesses and entrepreneurial ventures being supported through SEED.
Speaking during the distribution exercise yesterday, Minister Mohit said, “It is important for us to understand exactly how this assistance will benefit each person and their business, because that helps us to see the real impact of the support being provided.”
In all, the Ministry says the grants allocated between Friday and Sunday last, represent a total investment of $236,640.
