Opposition MP Keith Scotland says the party will not support any further extension of the State of Emergency beyond September 17th.
Speaking during an Opposition media conference yesterday, the Port-of-Spain South MP said the measure has not been effective as it is and claimed that civil liberties have worsened.
Mr Scotland also explained the fundamental reason for this decision.
Mr Scotland also called for greater transparency on the Government’s claims that crime and murders have declined under the SoE.
