Foreign Affairs Minister Sean Sobers will lead a high-level delegation to Caracas today, for talks aimed at strengthening ties with Venezuela.
The T&T Express reported that the delegation includes head of the Foreign Service, Randall Karim and Venezuela’s Ambassador to T&T Alvaro Enrique Sanchez Cordero.
The team is expected to meet with Venezuela’s Minister of Foreign Relations Felix Plasencia and other officials for discussions on economic cooperation, agriculture and fisheries, energy matters and national and maritime security.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said the renewed relationship will extend beyond energy to other areas that will be mutually beneficial for both parties.
