The NCRHA says it is considering all legal remedies over what it says are false and damaging claims from the T&T National Nurses’ Association.
In a statement, the Authority denied allegations that nurses were assigned four-hour shifts or suffered any loss of pay.
It insists no such shift system exists, pointing instead to a “flexible arrangement” it says was granted to about 3% of its nurses who were facing health, personal or transportation challenges, allowing them to complete their 40-hour work week.
The Authority also rejected claims of a nursing shortage, saying it recently recruited more than 100 nurses, strengthening its staffing complement and reducing the operational reliance on pool arrangements.
Additionally, it maintained that the TTNNA is not the recognised majority union for NCRHA employees, and so, it has no legal obligation to negotiate with the association.
