The Ministry of the People is urging citizens not to ignore early warning signs of violence, as it responds to reports of abuse affecting a local family.
In a statement, it acknowledges the ongoing police investigation, and reminds that prevention starts within communities, where warning signs are often missed.
It adds that its Gender Affairs and National Family Services Divisions continues to provide hotlines, shelter, and psychosocial support.
Support is available through the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-SAVE.
