More than 1,000 relief buckets have been prepared for affected communities in Venezuela, following the recent twin earthquakes.
Local Government Minister Khadijah Ameen says the response from businesses, community groups and the public has been encouraging.
The Minister provided the update during a visit to the Port of Spain Disaster Management Unit yesterday.
Minister Ameen added that the relief supplies will be shipped to Venezuela on Friday aboard the Galleons Passage.
Donations of relief items will continue to be accepted through Wednesday, at all regional corporations, while financial contributions can be made to the Venezuela Disaster Relief Fund at First Citizens Bank.
