Local Government Minister Khadijah Ameen says the rollout of the National Programme for the Upkeep of Public Spaces (NPUPS) has been successfully launched.
In a Whatsapp response to 103.1FM News today, the Minister said the programme is addressing immediate service needs while long-term solutions are being developed.
She added that assessments on worker productivity will continue, while supporting municipalities and creating employment opportunities.
The initiative will employ more than 1,600 workers across all 14 Municipal Corporations to maintain recreational grounds and public areas nationwide.
