A Hazardous Seas Alert is now in effect for Trinidad and Tobago, with the Met Service warning of dangerous near-shore conditions until 8AM on Wednesday.
The yellow-level alert, issued by the Met Service, is due to high-energy swells, and to a lesser extent, north-facing areas of the Gulf of Paria.
Officials warn conditions will worsen during high tides, potentially disrupting swimming, fishing, and boating activities.
Marine users are being urged to exercise extra caution, limit near-shore activity, and monitor official updates.
