Meteorologist Gary Benjamin says more rain and thunderstorms are expected this evening across Trinidad, and to a lesser extent Tobago, with the passage of Tropical Wave 19.
He says the system is likely to bring gusty winds, with surges reaching over 50 kilometres per hour at times.
This follows the passage of Tropical Wave 18 last night, which produced heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, leaving the ground relatively saturated.
Mr Benjamin also says another tropical wave is being monitored in the equatorial Atlantic, which is expected to pass over Trinidad and Tobago this weekend.
Mr Benjamin is urging the public to stay informed by following the latest forecasts and official updates from the Met Service.
