Johann Harry, also known as “Jesus”, of Trincity, has been held under a Preventive Detention Order, over alleged inflammatory social media content during the SOE.

Authorities say the material was allegedly directed at Indo-Trinidadians, persons of East Indian descent, Hindus, Government supporters and public officials, including the Prime Minister.

The content is said to include racial and religious hostility, including contempt toward Hindu religious beliefs, and is believed to be likely to heighten racial, religious, and political tensions.

The detainee is also accused of publishing statements containing threats or encouragement of physical violence against persons perceived to be hostile to black persons.

The order, published in Legal Notice 454 of 2026, was issued under powers granted during the ongoing State of Emergency.
