The T&T Met Service says this year’s Atlantic Hurricane Season could see below normal activity for Trinidad and Tobago.
Officials say there is a 49% chance of fewer hurricanes and a 37% chance of fewer tropical storms in the area.
This was presented during the 20th National Climate Outlook Forum, ahead of the official start of the North Atlantic Hurricane Season.
The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June 1st to November 30th.
Acting Climatologist Kaidar Kissoon says about three named storms and one hurricane are expected between June and November.
