The Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Ms. Leonora Haynes on the weekend.

Senator Dr. Natalie Chaitan-Maharaj, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services, visited Ms Haynes with representatives of the Division of Ageing.

They celebrated with family and friends of Ms Haynes, known affectionately as “Aunty Baby.”

Ms Haynes said the key to longevity is taking each issue that life gives you with a calm approach, managing stress, and staying faithful to God.

A former registered nurse and midwife, she now spends her days resting, relaxing, and reflecting on the different memories of her life.

She was honored with tokens from the Ministry, as well as cake compliments of Kiss Baking Company Ltd and hamper compliments of National Flour Mills Ltd.

The Ministry says to register for the National Centenarian Programme, please visit the Ministry’s website at www.social.gov.tt to complete the online form or print a downloadable form for completion.
