Sewa TT has signed an MoU with the Hunters Emergency Response Team led by Vallence Rambharat, to formalise a strategic alliance.
In a statement, Sewa TT says the alliance marks a practical step towards building a stronger, more coordinated national network of volunteer support.
Under the agreement, HSRT will continue to operate as an independent organisation, retaining full operational autonomy over its field activities, tactical decisions and search methodologies.
Sewa TT will provide institutional and logistical support to strengthen HSRT’s capacity, and allowing access its Piarco headquarters for the storage of rescue resources, team meetings, strategic planning, debriefings and emergency coordination.
HSRT will also have access to Sewa TT’s VHF and UHF radio communications resources, subject to applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.
The organisations will pursue joint fundraising initiatives through Sewa TT’s supermarket partner network, with an initial focus on acquiring two rescue vehicles—one for each organisation.
Additionally, Sewa TT volunteers will undertake cross-training with HSRT, creating opportunities to develop additional search and rescue manpower.
Participation in training and field operations will be subject to appropriate safety requirements, liability waivers and HSRT’s assessment of each volunteer’s suitability for operational deployment.
