There is an urgent call for Health Minister Dr Lackram Bodoe to intervene, following the resignation of the South-West Regional Health Authority Board.
The T&T National Nursing Association is calling for a new board to be appointed, in accordance with the law and an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the resignations.
In a media release today, the Association said the absence of a properly constituted SWRHA Board can weaken oversight, delay decision-making and create uncertainty around staffing and the management of healthcare services.
It also expressed concern over recent termination notices issued to daily-paid workers and the reported withdrawal of those notices.
According to the Association, appointing a new board is necessary to restore accountability, ensure effective oversight and maintain confidence in the health system.
