Legal notices have been published outlining the grounds for the Preventative Detention Orders issued for Dominic and Genevieve Hadeed.
These were published on July 2nd but carry a date of June 27th.
For Dominic Hadeed, it states that he was “credibly identified through intelligence” as being involved in “an ongoing conspiracy” to assassinate senior members of the Government and/or other serving Members of Parliament.
It goes on to state that he expressed “violent intentions” and threatened that “persons would be shot in their head” following the debate to extend the SoE.
There was also the determination that he was a person of “substantial financial means and influence with the resources, access and capability to facilitate serious organised criminal activity” and that “his continued liberty presents a real and immediate risk of facilitating the execution of plans intended to destabilise the Government…”
Meanwhile, the order for Genevieve Hadeed was similar, stating that she had been “credibly identified as participating in an ongoing conspiracy directed at the assassination of members of the Government” and that she is was “associated with other persons involved in the conspiracy”.
Both remain in custody, but continue to challenge the basis for their detention.
