The Ministry of Labour has launched an investigation into alleged labour law breaches at two supermarkets, following claims made in a Facebook post.

The Ministry said Labour Inspectors will probe allegations involving minimum wage violations and infringements of workersโ€™ rights.

It also assured that labour laws will be enforced where necessary.

The Ministry is reminding supermarket operators of their obligation to adhere to the law, maintain proper wage records, and cooperate with inspectors.

Employers are also being advised to comply with regulations governing the national minimum wage of $20.50 an hour, overtime pay, and national insurance contributions.
