There has been an increase in applications for public assistance and food support grants.
This is according to Parliamentary Secretary in the Social Development Ministry, Dr Natalie Chaitan-Maharaj, who today responded to a question in the Senate.
The question was whether there had been an increase in applications since the closure or restructuring of CEPEP.
She said the Ministry continues to maintain comprehensive social protection framework aimed at supporting vulnerable persons and households.
This, she added, remains available to all qualifying individuals, including former CEPEP employees.
