The Judiciary is the latest entity to warn about fraudulent text messages relating to alleged speeding violations.
The messages claim the recipient was guilty of a speeding offence and directs them to a link for a so-called “discount” on the resulting fine.
The links purport to be for the Judiciary’s CourtPay portal.
In a statement, the Judiciary confirms the links are fake, adding that payments for fixed penalty notices can only be made through the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.
It also advises persons not to click on the links in these messages and to refrain from sharing any personal, financial or banking information.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Transport also issued a warning over these fraudulent text messages.
