The DPP has instructed investigators to proceed with criminal charges in the police-involved killing of Joshua Samaroo and the wounding of his common-law wife, Kaia Sealy.
Commissioner Allister Guevarro said the instructions came after investigators received the completed forensic reports on May 19th and subsequently met with the Director of Public Prosecutions on May 20th.

On January 20th, 31-year-old Joshua Samaroo and Sealy were shot multiple times in St Augustine after police said an attempt to stop their vehicle in Maloney led to a chase.
