An escapee from the Immigration Detention Centre has been recaptured.
Around 5:30pm yesterday, officers went to Hilda Trace, Arouca, where they conducted covert surveillance on a galvanized structure along the roadway.
During this time, they observed a man approaching the location and, based on prior intelligence and positive identification, executed a tactical intervention that resulted in his arrest.
The suspect was identified as Edinson Maltin Alcala Larosa, of Thomas Trace, Arouca.
He was also confirmed as escaping from the IDC on July 18th. 2
On that day, 14 inmates reportedly escaped, with six found and held shortly after.
Larosa is the 7th to be recaptured.
