Health Minister Lackram Bodoe is urging the public not to panic over hantavirus, stressing there are no confirmed or suspected cases in Trinidad and Tobago.

He was responding to false online statements claiming school closures, a national shutdown, and airport restrictions.

According to a report by TV6 News, Dr Bodoe said the documents are โ€œentirely fakeโ€ and warned the public against misinformation circulating on social media.

He said the World Health Organisation has reported only a small cluster linked to a cruise ship abroad, and stressed there is no need for alarm locally at this time.
