Guyana doctors save Cuban teenager after knife attack

Doctors at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation have successfully saved the life of a 19-year-old Cuban national who arrived with a knife embedded in his skull after an altercation.

Emergency teams quickly stabilised him before scans confirmed the blade had penetrated his brain and caused internal bleeding.

Specialists performed emergency surgery around 4 a.m., carefully removing the object.

The teen regained consciousness and is recovering well, with doctors expecting further improvement before his discharge.
