FIFA has confirmed that a total of 1,248 players will represent 48 nations at the upcoming World Cup, as final squad lists have now been finalized.
The Association says 357 players will be returning for another appearance, while 891 will make their debut on football’s biggest stage.
Among the icons set to appear are Brazil’s Neymar, Croatia’s Luka Modric, France’s Kylian Mbappe, Norway’s Erling Haaland, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi.
The expanded tournament will feature 104 matches, the largest in World Cup history, across three countries and 16 host cities
The tournament kicks off next week Thursday, with host nation Mexico facing South Africa, in Mexico City.
