A father and son have appeared in court charged with attempted murder.

58-year-old welder Curtis Chin Hung, and 28-year-old fisherman Daniel Chin Hung stood before Master Whitney Franklin in the South ‘D’ AJIPA Court yesterday.

They were granted $80,000 bail each, with the matter adjourned to October 6th, 2026.

They were also ordered to stay 100 feet away from the victim, reside in Ste. Madeleine and report to the Ste. Madeleine Police Station once a month.

The charges stem from an incident on April 23rd 2026, where a 38-year-old man was attacked by two dogs.

The victim said he kicked one of the animals in self-defence, at which point the one of the accused came out of a nearby house, armed with a cutlass.

An argument ensued, at which point a second man approached with a metal rod in his hand.

The victim claims he was beaten about his head and body and had to seek medical treatment for his wounds.
