All disaster management unit managers are on high alert, following the issuance of a Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert by the T&T Met Service early this morning.
In an update to 103.1FM News, Local Government Minister Khadijah Ameen said no major reports of flooding, traffics disruptions or incidents have been recorded so far.
However, disasters managers, from the 14 regional corporations, have been instructed to to monitor and visit flood-prone areas.
The Minister also noted that while there was localized flooding near City Gate in South Quay, early this morning, the water had subsided by daybreak.
She added that flood mitigation works, to clear watercourses and improve local drainage, will continue in collaboration with the Works Ministry.
A Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert has been issued by the T&T Met Service and is in effect for T&T until 12PM today.
