A body, believed to be that of missing two-year-old Angelo Tobias, has been spotted off the coast of Goodwood, Tobago.
The child was found to be missing around 7:30pm on Monday, triggering a search of the Goodwood Main Road area.
A body was later spotted in nearby waters, but rough sea conditions and poor visibility have so far hampered attempts at a recovery.
The TTPS says its Victim and Witness Support Unit has been engaged to provide support to the family, while the Child Protection Unit has also been notified.
