A young business couple raised serious concerns about police inefficiency at today’s “Conversation with the Commissioner” event hosted by the T&T Chamber.
They said several reports they filed, supported by CCTV evidence, were not properly addressed by officers.
The couple noted long response times, lack of follow-up, and alleged that some officers, accused of misconduct, were instead promoted.
They also claimed they were treated unfairly, including being arrested despite reporting incidents as victims.
In response, the Police Commissioner apologised for the level of service described and acknowledged broader systemic challenges, pledging to address the matter.
He urged affected individuals to report their concerns directly and indicated that the case would be reviewed in collaboration with the Police Complaints Authority.
