British High Commission celebrates 3 T&T-linked recipients of QECT 100 Young Leaders Award

The British High Commission has celebrated three Trinidad and Tobago-linked recipients of the Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust 100 Young Leaders Award.

Renee Atwell, Maya Kirti Nanan, and Dawsher Charles were recognized among thousands of applicants from across the Commonwealth.

The Embassy hailed them as driving change through inclusion, education, empowerment and community leadership.

They were presented with their awards by Foreign Affairs Minister Sean Sobers and Deputy British High Commissioner Jon O’Shaughnessy during The King’s Birthday Party on June 9th.

Ms Atwell is the Founder and Executive Director of Girls of Impact T&T which seeks to build a supportive community where young women can access the resources they need to excel in education, career, and entrepreneurship.

Ms Nanan founded Autism Siblings and Friends Network and Rahul’s Clubhouse, which aim to create opportunities and provide support for individuals with autism and special educational needs.

Ms Charles started and runs Survival Scholars which works to help students to build their resilience to positively cope with school and life’s changes.
