Tomorrow, a matter involving Dominic and Genevieve Hadeed will come before the Appeal Court.
According to a Trinidad Express report, this relates to the judicial review and constitutional challenge against the Preventative Detention Orders issued against them.
A panel is scheduled to hear a procedural appeal filed by the couple’s attorneys challenging a High Court decision not to expedite the hearing of their constitutional claim.
It comes as the couple awaits the Privy Council ruling on a decision to stay an Appeal Court ruling ordering that they be released from prison and put under strict house arrest.
In ordering the stay, the Appeal Court panel determined that “the likely harm to the State carries more weight in the context of this case”.
It also considered the matter of Mr Hadeed’s health and ordered that he receive the appropriate medical attention.
