Alzarri Joseph omitted from T20I squad to face Sri Lanka

Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been left out of the West Indies squad to face Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series.

According to Cricket West Indies, Joseph was not considered for selection as part of workload management plans, and will continue his training and preparation ahead of the two-match test series.

Ackeem Auguste, Jewel Andrew, and Shamar Springer are the three changes to the squad that featured in the T20 World Cup where the “Men in Maroon” fell just short of reaching the semi-finals.

CWI says the upcoming series is the Windies’ first T20 assignment since the T20 World Cup and forms an important part of long-term preparations for the 2028 edition in Australia and New Zealand.

The T20I series against Sri Lanka will be played from June 11^th to 14^th at Sabina Park, Jamaica.
