Seven detainees have been handed prison sentences for escaping the Immigration Detention Centre.
Four of the detained appeared before Master Singh-Phillip at the High Court North A on Friday, where they pleaded guilty to Escaping Lawful Custody.
They were sentenced to terms of hard labour ranging from nine months to 15 months.
The remaining three detainees appeared before Master Dalrymple Watts at the High Court North A yesterday, also for Escaping Lawful Custody.
They were sentenced to terms of hard labour ranging from one to two months.
All seven detainees are now scheduled to reappear before the High Court to answer two counts of Assaulting a Police Officer.
