A 57-year-old man is now in custody following a home invasion incident in Golconda Settlement, Ste. Madeleine.
Around 8:50pm on Tuesday, a 68-year-old woman was at home when a male suspect allegedly entered her property without permission.
He reportedly threatened the woman, leading to a confrontation in which the homeowner armed herself and injured the suspect.
Residents also responded after an alarm was raised and detained the suspect until police arrived.
The suspect, who is also from Golconda Settlement, was arrested by responding officers and taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for medical treatment.
Investigations are continuing.
