FIFA World Cup 2026 line up complete

The biggest FIFA World Cup in history gets underway today, with 48 teams competing across three host nations, in a month-long tournament featuring a record 104 matches.

A total of 1,248 players will take part, including 891 making their World Cup debut.

The opening ceremony is expected to begin at 1:30PM, with feature performances by global music stars.

On the field today, co-host Mexico faces South Africa at 3PM, while South Korea takes on Czechia at 10PM in Group A action, in Mexico.
