44 interns will take part in the National Gas Company’s 2026 undergraduate programme.
NGC says the programme is designed to allow these future professionals to gain real-world experience and afford them meaningful learning opportunities.
It includes hands-on project assignments to mentorship from experienced professionals, with topics to include financial literacy; energy conservation and sustainability; conflict resolution; workplace professionalism and interview skills.
NGC says the students are from a wide range of academic backgrounds, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas to the table.
The programme has also now been adjusted to include the children of non-employees.
The company said in a statement, “The new undergraduate programme was designed by the Board, led by Chairman Gerald Ramdeen, in collaboration with management. Upon assumption of office, the Board found that the undergraduate programme that existed, was only afforded to the children of employees of
NGC. The ordinary student whose parent was not an employee of the Company, had no chance of earning an internship. This policy was disbanded by the new Board, and the internship programme was expanded to include all students with no pre-conditions.”
