Two Arima men have appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of 69-year-old Azard Pooran.
Pooran was gunned down at his home in Santa Rosa Heights on March 2nd 2026.
39-year-old Renaldo Thomas and 26-year-old Bradley Taitt, both of Arima, were held earlier this month.
Both have been charged with murder, Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.
They appeared before Master Raydon Dalrymple-Watts, at the High Court, Criminal Division on September 23rd 2026.
A Sufficiency Hearing is now set for April 6th 2027.
Meanwhile, Thomas was also brought before the court charged with another murder and an attempted murder.
In this case, 35-year-old Bhymal Madhoo was killed and a woman injured after someone shot at them in Arima on September 11th 2026.
The deceased, also known as ‘Bobby’, was a gardener and construction worker from Sangre Grande.
In this case, Thomas was also charged with Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when he appeared before Master Lisa Singh-Phillip, at the High Court, Criminal Division on September 23rd 2026.
A Sufficiency Hearing was set for April 6th 2027.
Finally, in a separate case, a Morvant man has appeared in court charged with the murder of 57-year-old Clarence Thompson.
Thompson, also of Morvant, was shot and killed on September 8th 2026.
Held for his murder is 34-year-old Jonathan Dillon Gould, who has also been charged with Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.
He appeared before Master Indira Chinebas, at the High Court ‘E’, on September 23rd 2026, with a Status Hearing set for November 16th 2026.
