Former Energy Minister Stuart Young is warning that the country could lose leverage in the Dragon gas deal, pointing to decisions under the current administration led by Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
In a social media post today, Mr Young says despite a historic agreement with Venezuela, the country may now be sidelined from key negotiations.
Mr Young also pointed to statements made after the 2025 election by the Prime Minister and how the current administration challenged the project and its leadership.
Mr Young maintains the Dragon gas deal remains critical to the country’s energy future.
