UWI Cocoa expert Dr Darin Sukha as received a prestigious major award from the Fine Chocolate Industry Association (FCIA).
He was presented with the ED Seguine Excellence to the Industry Award at the Southwest Chocolate and Coffee Festival in New Mexico on 11 April.
Dr Sukha is a Research Fellow and Food Technologist at the UWI St Augustine Cocoa Research Center, and has made outstanding contributions to the industry during the past three decades.
His work spans cocoa quality assessment, flavour science, post-harvesting processing, and international standards development.
