School fight

With several school fights reported since the start of the new academic year, the TTPS is warning that students involved could face criminal charges.

According to a Guardian Media report, a police official said children involved in fights are not above the law and could face legal consequences.

Police added that existing laws covering offences such as assault and battery apply to minors, who can be charged where investigations uncover sufficient evidence.

The TTPS said the reported incidents are being investigated with a view to determine whether charges should be laid.
