Missing St Vincent plane

T&T is assisting in a regional search-and-rescue operation, after a private aircraft traveling from St Vincent to Tobago went missing on Friday.

Civil Aviation Minister Eli Zakour said emergency protocols were activated through the Piarco Area Control Centre, with support from the Coast Guard and regional agencies.

The aircraft, HI1145, carrying two people, departed Argyle International Airport around 11:54AM, but lost contact south of St Vincent airspace and never arrived in Tobago.

Private and military aircraft have searched the area, but no trace of the plane has been found.

No wreckage has been sighted, and official channels have not yet disclosed the exact number or names of the occupants on board.
