A male suspect was arrested following an attempted robbery and shooting incident in Port of Spain on Saturday night.
Police say a driver operating his private vehicle for hire picked up two female passengers around 9:20 p.m.
One requested to be taken to Wharton Branch Road, Laventille.
On arrival, one woman exited the vehicle and was joined by two men, one armed with a gun, who allegedly announced a robbery.
The driver sped off, striking one of the suspects.
Police say a shot was fired as he escaped.
He was not injured.
Officers of the Besson Street Police Station arrested one suspect shortly after the incident. Investigations are continuing.
