A T&T-born man is among eight Caribbean nationals whose US citizenship may soon be revoked.
They are among 17 naturalized individuals facing the action after being accused of serious crimes.
The US Justice Department says it has filed denaturalization actions against the individuals alleged to have committed offences ranging from sexual abuse and fraud, to drug-related crimes.
The 30-year T&T-born man is accused of statutory rape and offences linked to his citizenship application.
Other cases involve individuals from Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
